Drought in the forest breaks plant–fungi interactions

چکیده

Abstract Drought in the forest is not only a prolonged state of water shortage, but also an occasion where interactions between plants and fungi are affected. Water efficiency accelerates range pathologies organisms, influencing ecosystems their interacting biological components. This study focuses on role mycorrhizal endophyte alleviating effects soil impact altered activity during drought health trees. The issues presented here show fundamental mycelium mechanism transport to plant course other phenomena (withering, pathogenesis, endophytes biology) that occur trees under influence drought, with particular attention managed coniferous stands. Conclusions resulting from published information this topic emphasize negative moisture deficiency ectomycorrhizal functioning and, contrast, promotion growth some endophytes, pathogens hemi-parasitic mistletoes ( Viscum spp.).

Forest biogeochemistry in response to drought.

Trees alter their use and allocation of nutrients in response to drought, and changes in soil nutrient cycling and trace gas flux (N2 O and CH4 ) are observed when experimental drought is imposed on forests. In extreme droughts, trees are increasingly susceptible to attack by pests and pathogens, which can lead to major changes in nutrient flux to the soil. Extreme droughts often lead to more c...

The impact of meteorological drought and grazing on the vegetation structure in aridlands (Case study: Nakhab Forest, Khosf County)

Drought and grazing rangelands play an important role in changing the structure of vegetation and losing the biodiversity of natural ecosystems. In this research, in order to determine the effects of drought and livestock grazing on the vegetation structure of rangelands located in the Nakhab Forest of South Khorasan Province, species abundance, biodiversity, and range condition and trend were ...

Drought in forest understory ecosystems – a novel rainfall reduction experiment

Precipitation patterns across Central Europe are expected to change over the 21st century due to climate change. This may reduce water availability during the plantgrowing season and hence affect the performance and vitality of forest ecosystems. We established a novel rainfall reduction experiment on nine sites in Germany to investigate drought effects on soil–forest–understory ecosystems. A r...

Forest-climate interactions in fragmented tropical landscapes.

In the tropics, habitat fragmentation alters forest-climate interactions in diverse ways. On a local scale (less than 1 km), elevated desiccation and wind disturbance near fragment margins lead to sharply increased tree mortality, thus altering canopy-gap dynamics, plant community composition, biomass dynamics and carbon storage. Fragmented forests are also highly vulnerable to edge-related fir...
